Mission

Baptist Collegiate Ministries is a responsive caring Christian community where individuals can come to find God and be challenged to grow in their faith and to grow through leadership experiences. We have three ways of meeting this goal:

Building Community

BCM holds a weekly meeting every Tuesday night at 6:33 as well as multiple other Bible studies and social activities to build an experience of "family". Student leaders are in charge of each of the family groups which make up BCM.

Making Disciples

Each family has an opportunity to reach specific residence hall students and are asked to work in reaching a specific group of off-campus students. we also provide ministry opportunities through visits to Heritage Hall nursing home, the juvenile detention center, and numerous other opportunites during school breaks. While at school, Bible studies and group discipleship develop personal spiritual growth.

Leadership Development

Through the Vision and Task Team, guided by BCM staff, students lead in task functions that are equally vital to the life of the BCM. In this way, we sustain an energetic and caring group that provides a witness and a ministry in conjunction with local churches and mission points beyond.

Baptist Collegiate Ministries is sponsored by the Virginia Baptist General Association and provides student-led Christian fellowship emphasizing faith, understanding, personal growth, leadership development, worship, Bible study, and Christian service.
