Director: Darrell Cook

Darrell has served as the Director of the BCM at VT since 1998. He grew up in Roanoke, VA, and graduated from Virginia Tech in 1988 with a degree in Family and Child Development. Darrell also received his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1991 and his MBA from Virginia Tech in 2006. He and his wife Laura have 5 children. Darrell’s hobbies include writing, public speaking, reading to his kids, and dribbling with his right hand.

Associate Director: Melissa Cheliras

Melissa grew up in the 757 and is a Virginia Tech alum. She graduated in 2000 with a BA in Communication. She’s been at the VT’s BCM since 2007. Between 2000 and 2007 she resided in the Boston, MA area working as a college minister, attending Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (receiving a MAR in 2006), and became a Red Sox fan. Melissa’s main areas of responsibility at BCM are freshmen ministry, campus missions, and drinking coffee at Bollo’s with ladies.

Associate Director: April Uebel

April has worked at the BCM since 2008. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2006 with a degree in Human Nutrition Foods and Exercise. Her main areas of responsibility include: women’s ministry, discipleship, family groups and working with student leaders. When she isn’t working she enjoys reading, baking, Zumba, and hanging out with her husband, Nic, and dog, Mabel.

Associate Director: Nic Uebel

Nic has worked at the BCM since 2008. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2004 with a degree in Computer Engineering and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. His main areas of responsibility at BCM are family groups, Bible study material, the praise band, mens discipleship, updating the website, and mowing the grass. He and April met at the BCM when they were students and got married in May 2006.
